Currently the Oregon and Costa Rican Chapters are focusing on one special project: engineering, constructing and maintaining solar panels to bring needed power to a remote Caribbean village.  This village relies on this power source to keep fragile medicines refrigerated.  Please read more about this project and let us know how and when you can help with this needed project.

Yorkin is an Indian village along the Panama-Costa Rica border accessible only via dugout canoe or a jungle walk. The river is similar in scenery to Tortuguero, with farmers transporting bananas, etc.  This area could be extremely muddy.

If you travel there as part of the Adult Cultural Exchange, your day would include a traditional lunch (fish, rice, beans), a cacao demonstration, and hiking around the area.
